I have been working with the Community College Students for four years. During these four years, I have advocated for equitable education and mental health awareness. I am pursuing this goal by getting my masters in Education to further understand and support students from all levels of education and backgrounds.

I have been working with the CREATE PD for the past year, and during my time I have conducted professional development trainings for the following school districts; Elk Grove Unified and Tulsa Public schools in Oklahoma. My focus is “I would not be I without them” I give a perspective to educators as to what it feels like to be a “refugee” and how I overcame all the odds. The support I got from the amazing teachers along the way helped me overcome and become who I am today. During my trainings I focus on what war steals from a child, the experience of a refugee through their lens, and I focus on the strategies for reducing bullying behavior.

The CREATE training I conducted on zoom for Tulsa Public schools was “The Beyond Session” in that session , I focuses on the Social and Emotional Needs for Newcomers, I provide information that can help support our newcomer families to reach their full potential.
