Nadia Niazi

Middle Eastern/Afghan

Nadia Niazi is a Canadian-American, a humanitarian, entrepreneur and public speaker. She found Islam 20 years ago while doing her undergraduate studies at UC Davis and has been a practicing Muslim ever since. 

She is a strong advocate for equality and social justice and plays an active role as Co-leader for the newest chapter in Sacramento of The Sisterhood of Salaam-Shalom, a Muslim-Jewish interfaith group. She is also the founder and executive director of FITRAH (Foster-youth In Transition Rise Above Hope), a social enterprise created to empower vulnerable youth—those aging out of foster care, court-involved, homeless, or out of school.

 

She has made it her life-long goal to ensure that they are equipped with the necessary tools and support for better outcomes. Nadia is also a frequent presenter for ANA-PD, a multi-cultural sensitivity training provider for educators and social services working with S.W.A.N.A populations.
